The PCA9547 is an octal bidirectional translation multiplexer controlled by the I2C-bus.
The SCL/SDA upstream pair fans out to eight downstream pairs, or channels. The device powers up with Channel 0 connected, allowing immediate communication between the master and downstream devices on that channel. An active LOW reset input allows the PCA9547 to recover from a situation where one of the downstream I2C-buses is stuck in a LOW state.
This I2C Multiplexer is an ideal solution for speaking to our entire range of Mini Modules and I2C devices, effectively converting a single I2C port into 8 I2C ports. On-board high-power driver is capable of delivering up to 5 Amps of current to be shared across all 8 I2C ports. This device offers enough current drive several of our spotlight I2C mini modules with no problem. Gas sensors also require a tremendous amount of current, making this a necessary add-on for many applications.
This is a general purpose I²C device compatible with all computing platforms and IoT technologies, including Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, Arduino, Particle, BridgeX5, and many more. All ControlEverything.com devices support a strict +5V I²C Bus standard.
