Our Brightest, Most Dangerous, RGB LED I2C Mini Module. This device allows you to control 256 levels of brightness for three high-power RGB LEDs integrated into a single LED package. This device include two tiny regulators, three tiny P-Channel FETs, a PCA9633, and a super-bright CREE RGB LED. Extreme caution is required with this one: It can blind you and it can burn you, badly, as it's normal operating temperature is 185F at full brightness! Be SURE to mount this module safely BEFORE power-up. NEVER hold this Mini Module in your hand! Never look at the RGB LED directly!

Components are mounted on both sides of this I2C Mini Module. Up to 16 can share a single I2C bus in theory, but the power consumption of this module is excessive (we will be measuring soon and updating this description). Since this device requires so much power, it should NOT be used at full brightness with any computing platform except for the BRIDGEX5. We are working on power solutions that will allow this thing to shine, until we have power worked out, keep the brighness to a reasonable level. We will post updates to help guide you on this. This I2C Mini Module includes a small heatsink and adhesive pads that should be mounted directly behind the RGB LED. Please be careful with this one!

Mini Modules

Our mini modules provide a standardized footprint to simplify the design of your project, and allow for a smaller form factor without sacrificing the plug-and-play  ease of use that our product line affords.

All I²C Mini Modules are designed to operate at 5VDC. Using a convenient quick connect 4-Pin plug, devices can be daisy-chained onto the I²C Bus, eliminating the need for soldering. Simply plug together the devices you need for your next automation application.

Pull-up resistors are included with all master devices. If you are wiring in your own I²C port, on-board 4.7K jumper-selectable pull-up resistors are available for convenience purposes.

All mini modules are 50.8 x 31.75 mm.
